Alright, it’s time to get those lunch boxes filled up and ready to go. Everyone hates the packing of lunches, mostly because they feel uninspired and worse, because when parents think they’ve done a good job, they see a full or semi-full lunchbox come back home. It truly is the bain of our existence. Even if you are off to a great start, after about a week or a month, you’ll want to re-listen to this!
First, write down what you make every day. Even take a photo of the lunchbox all topped up with colourful foods, and that bento style box full of goodness. Because when you note all this down, you’ll be able to look back and re-create what worked, or just inject a simple re-do of what your kid hasn’t had for a while.
Start age appropriate kids making their own - it truly will help you in the long run. Even if they just fill compartments or containers with the veggies like sugar snap peas and dollop in the hummus, they’re in lunch-making-training!
Include a protein; dairy, meat, fish, eggs, quinoa for instance, I have top tips and recipes in my book, Sprout Right Family Food, so you’ll have me along for the ride as kids head back.
