MyFM: Change habits instead of making resolutions

What are 3 things you can do right now to start new habits for the new year?

  1. Go get a glass of water and drink it right now. Then set an alarm on your phone or watch for another three times today, and every time it goes off, drink at least a glass or 500mL of water. Do that four times a day and you’ve consumed 2L without even batting an eyelash! Hydration is key for energy, it will give you an instant boost. Your skin needs it, and dehydration shows up immediately if you have dry lips. It also helps combat constipation and headaches.
  2. Commit to 5 fruits and veggies a day. Make a list of your favourites and three new ones to try. Add that to your shopping list or online cart. The minimum is 5 a day (go hard to 10 a day if you can) and that’s just what you do every day. No excuses. It’s a new habit that will stick. One or two fruits for breakfast, snack on carrot sticks or cut up zucchini, have a salad with lunch and broccoli and corn for dinner. DONE!
  3. Go to bed. The conscious decision to get more sleep has the potential to improve your health almost as much as the food you eat. Whatever time your head hits the pillow right now, back that up by 15-30 minutes and cozy up under the covers. Read, meditate, breathe, or close your eyes and drift off. If you have difficulty falling asleep, take Magnesium BisGlycinate and Melatonin, and take Kid Boost during the day. It’s a winning combo that many of my clients say sorts out their sleep patterns.
