Hydration is one of the most important aspects of health, but what’s the best water to drink? Some are happy with tap water, and others prefer to filter their water. There’s reverse osmosis, spring water, jug and Brita type filters, Zero filter and many others.
In the recent EAT THIS with Lianne episode, my guest Dr. Davis Brockenshire, talked about the levels of pharmaceuticals found in our water supply - not only coming out of our taps and into our glass or kettle for coffee or tea, but also out of our showers. What did your last bath have in it? Or that mist from your shower?
A CBC article said “If we’re taking it, we’re also drinking it: painkillers, blood thinners, hormones, chemotherapy agents, even cocaine and amphetamines.” They found 165 individual pharmaceuticals and personal care products have been identified in water samples and went on to describe not only are we getting these in water, but the combination of them ALL together is a concern. Who takes all those at the same time?
Then there’s the herbicides and pesticides like glyphosate (aka Round Up). No one wants that in their system - it has been linked to numerous cancers, including lymphoma.
Do all filters take this stuff out? This is where you need to hear the podcast episode and learn about the research. I have just purchased a Berkey system myself after interviewing Scott Miller from ConsciousWater.ca, who has also given a BIG Berkey system worth almost $400 as a giveaway.
