What is your future going to look like? Can genetic tests be like the crystal ball of science?
I’ve come to learn that there are tests that can hone in on which medications; both pain and meds for depression and anxiety suit a person best. There are tests that tell you if you’re drinking too much coffee, or if gluten free is right for you and so on and so on.
Do you want to have a test to know what your future might look like? There’s nutrigenomics that can help you know what’s best to eat, or not eat. Then pharmacogenomics - which drugs will be harmful. Dr B, my guest in episode 94 of EAT THIS with LIanne, said that about 60% of the population in North America can't take a statin drug. They don’t respond to that and their DNA says - I don’t think so. Dr B suggested that we have some testing done so we know what NOT to take.
I have had a genetic test done and head to liannephillipson.com for a few of my results with an overview of a few aspects - my histamine could be responsible for my migraines and alcohol intolerance.
There’s a gene called MTHFR which has to do with methylation, which is something I would love for listeners to know more about as it’s an important aspect of health. And if you are someone with this gene, you need to up your B12 and B vitamins.
The most important supplements that Dr B talked about in this episode are Magnesium Bis-Glycinate, Methyl B12 Spray, Liposome B Complex Liquid, Take This by Lianne Bio Boost Probiotics and Sunshine D3+K2 Spray.
