myFM: Dealing with muscle cramps

What can you eat to help you deal with muscle cramps?

This morning on myFM’s segment, I talked about muscle cramps. If you’ve experienced them before, you know they’re never fun. It’s an involuntary contraction of your muscle that can immobilize you temporarily. Muscle cramps are often caused by dehydration or mineral deficiencies. 

To prevent muscle cramps, make sure you’re getting enough minerals from your diet, particularly potassium, magnesium and calcium. Try adding some of these foods to your diet;

  • Nuts and seeds
  • Beans
  • Sweet potatoes
  • Leafy greens
  • Avocado
  • Butternut squash
